About

Jennifer Langsdale

I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Jennifer, and I’m a yoga teacher, therapist, mother and wife. This is my sacred space to share with you the many things I have learned as an active participant in each role. I’ve created a lifestyle for myself that draws from the many teachings of yoga, and I want to help you do the same – to learn how to live your yoga.

My Life Purpose

I started my yoga business almost 10 years ago to see clients privately for therapeutic yoga. My clients and I saw amazing results through our work together – healing their bodies with yoga and chair yoga; their minds and emotions with my Yoga Therapy training.

My business and education expanded as I hosted my own classes and taught at studios throughout Northeast Ohio for several years. Then I made the big decision to leave my full-time job to focus on yoga full-time (I call this my life purpose). I developed my own yoga school which has been educating people about yoga and yogic studies since 2008. I also continued my own studies with Shiva Rea and became certified in Rea’s Prana Flow® Vinyasa program. I teach this and other styles of yoga at my own yoga studio in Mentor, Ohio. Awaken Yoga opened in 2012, right after the birth of my first child.

Awaken Yoga StudioAwaken Yoga

I opened Awaken Yoga in 2006. It started as a mobile business, where I would do home visits for clients with various therapeutic needs, and group classes at various locations around the Northeast Ohio area.

Then it transformed into a private yoga business and Yoga School. I began with a 200 hour training program in 2008 and quickly expanded it into a Yogic Studies Program and Teacher Training, as I felt 200 hours was not enough to even scrape the bucket on what yoga’s potential is.

As I continued to grow my programs and network of teachers who specialized in specific yogic subjects, I moved the school into the Shore Cultural Centre in Euclid, Ohio in 2010, and then expanded to my current location in Mentor, Ohio where Awaken Yoga now houses two small studios for the school & studio classes, two healing arts rooms and a yoga book store. I wanted a warm, intimate space where people feel invited when they walk in, and not intimidated. This is the space you will find Awaken Yoga in today.

Along with yoga classes and teacher training programs, I also offer my own healing modality. I founded Body Wisdom™, a form of psychological yoga therapy that evolved from helping my clients through a variety of different yogic techniques. In 2013, I began a certification program to train people in Body Wisdom™ and I’m still astounded at the amazing things this practice of yoga and healing arts does for my clients and the people around me.

After the birth of my second child, I also felt a profound connection to Prenatal and Postnatal care for women, and I continue to help women learn how to work with their bodies before, during and after pregnancy.
